W. Soule & Company was awarded the 2009 Outstanding Safety Performance Award by the Michigan Association of General Contractors (AGC). This award is given to firms with the best injury incident rate during a given year. This award is a positive reflection of our management, field supervision and most importantly our dedicated trades men and women in the trenches every day.

Our business is inherently dangerous. Since our humble beginnings in 1946 in a small shop in Paw Paw, Michigan, our employees have always been an important and valuable part of the W. Soule family. Our Safety Program revolves around planning, communicating, observing, and looking for ways to continually improve. This Program is the foundation for safe work practices, and includes:

• Daily discussion of work task to establish safe work practices through the use of W. Soule & Company Pre-task Planning Cards.
• Employees that are empowered to stop work and notify a supervisor if they feel something is unsafe.
• Weekly "Toolbox Talks"
• Project Inspection Reports
• OSHA 10-Hour Training for all of our supervisors.

We strive to weave a cultural thread of safety in our everyday activities. In doing so, we believe that working safely will become instinctive to our employees.
