Our purchasing process is unique to the contractor industry. Instead of project managers securing their own materials, our trained procurement team secures materials company-wide so we can pool purchases over multiple locations including out of state work. Our purchasing team is dispersed throughout multiple offices and utilizes technology to pool orders and take advantage of bulk purchasing opportunities as available. This also helps streamline our accounting practices and be more efficient.
We source from a large base of local, regional and national businesses. The relationships we’ve developed with manufacturers and specialty shops help us to broaden our purchasing base and source items that may not be carried in traditional channels.
Thomas Soule started this company in his garage in 1946. We’ve grown so much since then and are thankful for the customers, subcontractors, vendors and other companies who’ve helped make that growth possible. Because it’s the right thing to do, we strive to pay it forward and lend a helping hand to other growing businesses.
W. Soule believes that our company, employees and communities benefit from providing equal opportunities for diverse business enterprises. It is important that our supplier base reflects the diversity of the communities where we live, work and serve.
Our fleet of pickup trucks, stake bed trucks and semi trucks help us to move material to and from job sites with ease. We also have negotiated terms in place with trucking companies for supplemental delivery arrangements.
Material and Tool Management
Four of our locations house an inventory of hardware, consumables and tools. The material is tracked to manage in-stock quantities and replace only when needed. We also track tools as they are used in the shop and travel to and from job sites, reducing the occurrence of missing tools and controlling replacement costs.
