Carl Neuenfeldt Earns Certified Associated Welding Inspector Designation
Carl Neuenfeldt, Quality Control department, recently passed the American Welding Society’s Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) exam and is on his way to becoming a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Passing this exam is no easy task. Carl attended a week-long, instructor-led training seminar to prepare for the 6 hour exam.
“Passing the CWI exam was a big step for me, because it really laid the foundation for continuing my education in the piping and pressure vessel industry. W. Soule was a tremendous help in taking that step by supporting me when I felt I was ready,” said Carl.
Ned Hawkins, Corporate Quality Control Director, commented “Carl joined us in November of 2012 with a strong background in welding and has excelled in his role in quality. The majority of the work done in the Saginaw shop where he’s based requires strict compliance to the Code and our customers’ specifications. One of the major quality checks we do is x-ray testing of our welds which the customer reviews after the project. This means that every piece of film has to be reviewed by us, Carl, to make sure the film and data are correct before turning it over to our customer.”
Carl is not only careful and meticulous when it comes to his work, he has a great sense of humor and adds positivity to the team spirit in the Saginaw office. Whether it is a code job that pops up as an emergency or a 500+ page turnover package to complete, his attention to detail and follow through is remarkable and noticed in the market as THE benchmark for turnover packages.
Carl is off to a great career as a Certified Weld Inspector and we are very proud to have him on our team.
