Keeping the Heat On for Military Families

Keeping the Heat On for Military Families

This fall team members from our Saginaw office teamed with other HVAC professionals to help keep the families of 25 active and military veteran service people warm this winter.

“These families have sacrificed so much for us and our country, we’re proud to be able to use our talents to give a little back.”
Lee Burnham

Ten contractor members of the Bay Area Association of the Michigan Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Inc., in partnership with members of Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 85 provided heating inspections and repairs at the homes of service people in Midland, Saginaw and Bay City.

Furnaces were checked and cleaned. New air filters, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were installed too. Two furnaces were found to have cracked exchangers and were leaking carbon monoxide – those families were given new exchangers or furnaces.

The families represented a spectrum of military service from World War II through active duty. Plans are underway to make this very successful project an annual event.
